Not all that long ago, we spoke about “ministries” in the church. Many ministries were thought of as special work of the clergy done for the benefit of members of congregations.

Mission, however, is all about discerning where Jesus is already working and doing whatever it takes to move alongside him to assist in His work of redeeming the world. Most of the mission work to which we are called is local and outside the church campus.
