This Week

Each week we bring you links to resources that may be valuable to you and to your congregation or community.  Share your recommendations with us!

Planning or Leading Worship?

Several congregations are considering adding another service to reach some who don't come to church now.  Be sure, when praying and planning about this that you include some of the very people you hope to serve - to pray/plan with rather than for them

Serving in the Community?

A partnership between Community Action Partnership and the First Christian Church in Cameron makes it possible for the 60 homeless youth in Clinton County to haev access to meals, networking with peers and caring adults, and toiletries.  This ministry is expanding exponentially and to think that it started with an invited guest talking about homelessness with guys at  monthly Disciples Men's breakfast.

Pursuing Better Spiritual Health?

Register ON-LINE for a prayer retreat for the laity at Conception Abbey on March 5 & 6.  This retreat for Disciples and their guests is designed with busy people in mind and will be led by Karen Ceckowski – a trained spiritual director on the Abbey Retreat Center staff.  The schedule will allow time for rest, guided relaxation and an opportunity to connect with friends who share faith.  Cost to participate will be $100 pp (single occupancy) or $85 pp (share a room) and will include lodging, all meals, and materials.  Partial scholarships may be available for those with extraordinary financial challenges.  Contact Jan at the area office for more information.  nwareacc(at)nwareacc.org or 816.632.2237 or register on-line!
