Position Description:
Most of us shake our heads and wonder how the CEO of a $100 million manufacturing corporation with 5 North American plants and a $45 million new venture in renewable energy products finds time to teach courses in congregations about Spiritual Gifts and Evangelism as well as guest preach in several congregations and help congregations and pastors in transition times. Such is the life of the NW Area Evangelist.
Lavon also chairs the Board of Directors for the 160 acre Center for Lifelong Learning and is currently in the middle of an effort to help develop a strategic plan for serving a wide variety of groups and organizations in an area within a radius of 75 miles around Kansas City. On April 10 he will lead a day-long series of idea generation exercises with a group of 15 carefully recruited representatives of the whole population the Center hopes to serve over the next 50 years.
Congregations are giving positive reviews to the Spiritual Gifts course that Lavon has developed combining information from several sources with his own extensive study of the Bible. He offers a seven hour course option that can be given in one day.
