NW Area Pastor for Youth
Position Description:
John frequently tells the story of how his daughter’s involvement in the Plattsburg First Christian Church reawakened in him a desire to follow Christ and to serve in carrying out the Great Commission. A veteran of the U. S. Navy, he played bass guitar in a successful local rock band and has worked in construction, printing, and management. His walk with Jesus Christ led him to voluntary service in the Plattsburg First Christian Church and NW Area church camps. Music has been one way John uses to reach and to encourage a wide range of youth.
In 2007 & 2008 John directed the NW Area Praise Team and several youth from that group have gone on to serve with distinction in music and leadership.
John works supportively with congregational youth pastors and in the coming year will visit several congregations to learn about and share new opportunities to help youth find faith and exercise discipleship in and beyond their congregations and communities. He also comes up to the NW Area office to help with major projects.
