Position Description:
Farmer, bi-vocational pastor, former business owner and now associate pastor for First Christian Church, Lathrop, Ken has a particular passion to assist bi-vocational pastors – often second career ministers with full-time employment in the secular world. So much of clergy support is structured to focus on ordained career ministers and Ken is working to open more access to pastors serving small rural congregations by making individual appointments and exploring ways to connect on evenings and weekends.
Currently Ken is also working on an initiative with Lavon Winkler and Vic Davis to reach and serve rural community members that don’t currently connect with any local congregations.
He and Sue reside in the small house located on the Center for Lifelong Learning and provide hospitality for visitors and oversee upkeep, hay harvest and maintenance for the 160 acres.
Ken usually takes part in the Cameron area clergy cluster and is available by appointment.
